Subash Adhikari

Postdoctoral Researcher

Bio Sketch

I was born and raised in Nepal. I came to the United States in 2017  to enroll in a graduate program in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Delaware. Many people back home did not know about Delaware, despite it being the first state. Whenever I talked with my relatives, I explained where Delaware was. But, things have changed much since then, and now most people know about Delaware. Thanks to Joe!

I am a computational plasma physicist with a Ph.D. in Plasma physics. My research focuses on the turbulence-like properties of magnetic reconnection, a phenomenon that changes the topology of magnetic field lines.  I work with magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) and kinetic particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations.

I have a B.S. degree in Physics and Mathematics from Tribhuvan University. I also have an M.S. degree in Physics specializing in Gravitation and Cosmology from the same university. I worked with the geodesics around Schwarzschild de-Sitter spacetime back then. It feels like a different world since I switched to plasma physics.
